Dr. Julius Kofi Hagan Nominated as CTA Top 20 Innovators in the World
A lecturer at the Department of Animal Science, Dr. Julius Kofi Hagan has been nominated by the Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation CTA-ACP-EU (Eta) as one of the top 20 innovators in the world.
His innovation entitled "Improving the Productive Performance of Local Chickens using Naked-Neck and Frizzle Genes for Smallholder Farming System" was among the final 20 chosen among the 250 works submitted for the award.
Dr. Hagan will therefore participate in the eTA Top 20 Innovations cross-learning Write shop, which will take place at NH Rijnhotel in Arnhem, the Netherlands from October 13-17, 2014.
The Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA) is an international nonprofit organisation established under a joint agreement between the Africa, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) group of countries and the European Union. CTA’s mission is to advance food security, increase prosperity and encourage sound natural resource management by providing access to information and knowledge, facilitating policy dialogue and strengthening the capacity of agricultural and rural institutions and communities in ACP countries.
It will be recalled that Dr. Hagan was adjudged the 2013 3rd Best Young Professional Scientist in Africa, by the CTA/FARA/IFS/ANAFE/RUFORUM/NEPAD/AGRA.
