Orientation is mandatory for all freshmen. It is a week-long series of events at held the beginning of the first semester for freshmen to meet new people and find new opportunities available at the University. Students are introduced to the various clubs and associations and are encouraged to join as many as they wish. In a sense, the orientation process presents freshmen with a snapshot of life on UCC campus.

This is a formal ceremony to admit students to the rights and privileges of the University. It is a simple but a significant ceremony at which newly admitted students of the University swear an oath to abide by the rules and regulations of the University and to apply themselves to the programmes of study they have been admitted into.
