Mr. John Kofi Nyan

Mr. John Kofi Nyan, attended Amisano (near Elmina) Catholic Primary and Middle Schools(1965-1976), Commercial Service Institute, Cape Coast (1977 - 1979) and Takoradi Polytechnic (1980 - 1982) where he successfully completed the Diploma in Business Studies (Secretarial Option) programme. In 1990 he obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Secretaryship) Degree and a Diploma in Education from the University of Cape Coast and received a Master of Public Administration (MPA) Degree from the University of Ghana in 1997.

Mr. Nyan joined the service of the University of Cape Coast in May 1983 as Clerk Grade 1. From this humble beginning and by dint of hard work, continuing education, and his commitment and passion for the growth and development of his alma mater, he had gone through the ranks of junior and senior staff grades (1983-1993) to the high senior administrative position of Deputy Registrar in 2008.

Mr. Nyan has worked in various sections of the University including the Human Resources Division (1983-1986), the Academic Section (1991-1992), the Faculty of Education (1997-2001), the Institute of Education (1992-1995), and the Office of the Registrar [Council Secretariat] (2001 to date). Mr. Nyan has been teaching on part-time basis at the University of Cape Coast since 1998. He has a number of papers to his credit.

He has made significant contribution to the development of Modules in Business Communication, the Law and Procedure of Meetings and Human Resource Management which are currently being used by students of the Centre for Continuing Education, University of Cape Coast. He has attended a number of workshops and seminars to sharpen his competencies and upgrade his knowledge. He has made presentations at various training seminars/workshops.

Mr. Nyan has a record of 29 years' of devoted service (including 19 years at the senior administrative level) at the University of Cape Coast. He has handled several sensitive schedules and serviced higher level university bodies including Council and its principal committees. He has several wealth of leadership, managerial, administrative, communicative, teambuilding and collegial skills.
