APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTOR, DIRECTORATE OF RESEARCH, INNOVATION AND CONSULTANCY (DRIC)
The University of Cape Coast invites applications for the position of Director, Directorate of Research, Innovation and Consultancy (DRIC) which will become vacant on 1st August, 2025.
KEY DUTIES
The Director shall be the Academic and Administrative Head of the Directorate of Research, Innovation and Consultancy (DRIC) responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for managing matters relating to research, innovation and consultancy.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Applicants must be of professorial status, scholars of high repute and be individuals of stature and integrity with strong leadership, interpersonal, communication, consultancy and research skills.
Applicants must possess a terminal degree (PhD) in the relevant discipline and have over ten (10) years of relevant working experience in a reputable university or related academic institution.
Applicants must show evidence of the following qualities:
a. coordinate the university-wide research agenda;
b. source and manage funds for research;
c. develop and advise the Academic Board on:
i. criteria for the research components of assessment for promotion
ii. motivate research effort of faculties/schools, and
iii. sponsor research and conferences
d. ensure standard/quality research by writing out research proposals that can serve and be executed to register the University’s presence in the Ghanaian economy and international domain
e. coordinate and support publication of journals and books in the University
f. liaise with Directorate of Academic Planning and Quality Assurance to advise Management on procedures that promote research-based teaching.
TERM OF OFFICE
The position, which is full time, is for a three-year term, renewable on re-appointment for a second term only subject to favourable recommendations from Appointments and Promotions Board if the person is not beyond the statutory retirement age of sixty (60) years.
