The Kwame Nkrumah Hall (KNH) has celebrated its 19 years with a call on the Hall to partner entrepreneurs so as to create wealth for the Hall. A former head of the Department of Conservation Biology and Entomology, Prof. Peter Kwapong, made the call at a durbar to mark the 19th anniversary of the Hall. The Week-long celebration was on the theme " Celebrating 19 Years of Excellence, Achievements and Way Forward". He said there were numerous opportunities to partner the private sector and create wealth and an enabling environment in the Hall.

A team of 26 students and four faculty members from the Grand Valley State University (GVSU) in the United States are currently undertaking a Study Abroad programme at the University of Cape Coast. The Study Abroad Programme which forms part of UCC-GVSU collaboration is an initiative between the Department of Public Health of the School of Nursing and Midwifery, UCC and Public Health Nursing, GVSU. It began in 2013 with the aim of establishing and improving links and partnership with local and international collaborators in the area of Public Health.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Ghartey Ampiah, has paid a working visit to the Central Regional Headquarters of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG). In his remarks at a meeting with the management of the Central Regional ECG, Prof. Ampiah said the visit was to introduce himself and also deepen the already existing relations between UCC and ECG. The Vice-Chancellor expressed the University’s gratitude to management of the Central Regional ECG for the continuous support and assistance.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Ghartey Ampiah, has called on Osabarima Kwesi Atta II, the Paramount Chief of Oguaa Traditional Area, at his Palace. The visit was to officially introduce himself to the Omanhen, as well as his sub-chiefs and elders, to seek his blessings and support during his tenure as the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast. The Oguaa Manhen, after welcoming the Vice-Chancellor and his accompanying delegation, congratulated Prof. Ampiah on his appointment .

The Osibisa Band has thrilled staff and students of the Department of Music and Dance to some old melodious collections at a live concert on campus. The Concert dubbed “Going Global with Your Music, the Osibisa Experience” was aimed at sharing the experience of Osibisa and also inspire the students to put in more effort to make impact with their music. The live band musical performances, held at the Music Laboratory, won the hearts of many music lovers, who were treated to an unforgettable tunes from Osibisa.

The Centre for Teaching Support of the University of Cape Coast has organised a training workshop for the College of Health, Yamfo (CoHY). The training programme which was facilitated by the Institutional Affiliation Office forms part of UCC’s responsibility to build the staff capacity of institutions being mentored by the University.

A two-day retreat has been held for both management and students of the University to find solutions to some challenges affecting the welfare of students on campus. The event was also to serve as a wake-up call on the various departments of the University to be proactive in the discharge of their duties. Opening the retreat, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Ghartey Ampiah, said the retreat was not to find fault but to bring to bear situations on the ground and brainstorm the way forward.
