This course is designed to expose prospective student teachers to historical background of the French language- origin and evolution. Students will also learn the functions of language in general and the French language in particular. They will also be introduced to the importance of French language to them as individuals and to Ghana as a nation. The course will also expose them to varieties of French in the world. In addition, students will also learn about the contributions of some organizations in the teaching/learning of French in Ghana.
