VoTEC Students Showcase their Creativity with Fashion Show

VoTEC Students Showcase their Creativity with Fashion Show

Final year students of the Vocational and Technical Education (VoTEC), University of Cape Coast impressed fashion lovers on campus with their latest collections and designs.

The sold-out event saw many student-models hit the runway with their eye-catching catwalk, latest style of clothing and hair decoration, amidst smiles and applause from fashion spectators.

Samples of their designs ranged from corporate, casual and African wear, to wedding gowns innovatively designed with colourful fabrics.

The annual fashion show is a practical assessment   of level 400 students reading "Specialized Clothing Construction" course, to demonstrate their talents and readiness for the job market.

The night was interspersed with music to serenade the atmosphere in the Main Auditorium, which also thrilled clienteles of the event.

The Head of the Department, Dr. (Mrs) Patience Danquah Monnie, in her address, indicated that she was impressed with the combination of fabrics by the students, as well as their designs and creative exhibitions.

She decried the lack of support for the fashion industry in the country. She, therefore, called on corporate bodies, organisations and individuals to come on board to support the initiative to promote the fashion industry at the University.

She added that investment in the industry was an avenue for job opportunities that would also help to position Ghana on the global fashion platform.
