ADVERTISEMENT FOR APPOINTMENT OF LECTURESHIP POSITIONS – FACULTY OF LAW
Applications are invited from qualified candidates to take up lectureship positions in the Faculty of Law University of Cape Coast, Ghana, in the following areas:
i. International Humanitarian Law
ii. International Environmental Law
iii. Arbitration Law
iv. Media and Entertainment Law
v. AI, Data Protection Privacy Law
vi. Medical Law
Ranks
i. Lecturer
ii. Senior Lecturer
iii. Associate Professor
iv. Professor
1.0 Lecturer
The candidate must:
a) Possess Master of Laws
b) Have five (5) years post qualification at the Ghana Bar or in a relevant position
c) Be a registered member and in good standing of a related professional Law body
OR
d) Possess a PhD in Law or Law related area
e) Be a registered member and in good standing of a related professional Law body
2.0 Senior Lecturer
The candidate must:
a) Possess a PhD qualification in Law or Law related area
b) Have served for a minimum of four (4) years as a Lecturer in a University or analogous institution
c) Have a minimum of five (5) refereed publications in his/her area of specialization.
3.0 Associate Professor
The candidate must:
a) Possess a PhD qualification in Law or Law related area
b) Have at least seven (7) refereed publications in his/her area of specialization since his/her last appointment as Senior Lecturer or must have a total of 12 refereed
publications since appointment as Lecturer. The publications must be passed by external assessors.
c) Have taught for a minimum of four (4) years in a university or analogous institution as a Senior Lecturer.
4.0 Professor
The candidate must:
a) Possess a PhD qualification in Law or Law related area
b) Have taught for a minimum of two (2) years as Associate Professor or have considerable number of years of teaching/research experience in a university or analogous institution.
c) Have at least eight refereed publications in his/her area of specialization since his/her last appointment as an Associate Professor or must have a total of twenty (20) refereed publications.
In all cases, the publications should be passed by external assessors.
The appointment of professorial rank shall be by tenure.
