The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Beautiful Creations Company Limited, Mr. Samuel Dankyi Ansong, has donated medical equipment worth GH100,000.00 to the School of Allied Health Sciences under the College of Health and Allied Sciences.
The items included office swivel chairs, four drawer cabinet, metal cupboards, printers, laptops, hospital wheel chairs, laboratory coats, advanced microscope, steel dustbins, eye charts, weighing scale with adult height measure, scanners, diagnosis sets, hospital trolleys, among others.
Presenting the items at a short ceremony to the School, Mr. Ansong said the donation would not only help in the training of the students, but would also help in the administration of the School.
He dropped the hint that his firm would put up a modern laboratory for the School.
“It is our hope that in the very near future, in order to increase our co-operation further, our firm will build a very big laboratory for the School, so that our aim of working closely with the University to produce quality graduates and to help solve the educational needs of the country can be achieved,” said Mr. Ansong, who was accompanied by his immediate family and some staff members of Beautiful Creations Company Limited.
For his part, the Provost of the College of Health and Allied Sciences, Prof. H.S. Amonoo- Kuofi, who received the items on behalf of the School, expressed appreciation to Mr. Ansong for his kind gesture.
He said Beautiful Creations Company Limited had been supporting the School of Medical Sciences in the form of equipment and logistical support in the discharge of its mandate to train more medical professionals to address the health needs of the country. Prof. Amonoo- Kuofi assured the donor that the equipment would be put to good use. He appealed to public-spirited individuals, non-governmental organisations and corporate entities in the country to emulate the shining example of the donor.
The Registrar, Mr. John Kofi Nyan; the Acting Director of Public Affairs, Major (Rtd) Kofi Baah-Bentum; the Director of Academic Affairs, Mr. Jeff Onyame; the Dean of the School of Allied Health Sciences, Prof. Moses Joojo Eghan and other top officials, were present at the ceremony.
