A team of final year students from the University of North Eastern University, Boston, Massachusetts in the United States of America(USA) has paid an educational visit to the University Primary School.
The team comprising three (3) graduates and 16 college students spent two days at the Primary School interacting with teachers and pupils. Explaining the purpose of the visit, leader of the team, Ms. Jamie Silverstein said the visit formed part of an educational exchange programme where final year students spend some time in other countries to experience their educational system.
Ms. Silverstein indicated that the team had already visited the Basic Schools of the University of Ghana and University of Education Winneba. She further said that they would also visit the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology Basic School before leaving Ghana to USA.
Sharing her experience on the team’s interaction with the UCC Primary School, she said the school was well organized and the pupils behaved well despite the large class size adding that “In USA we have small class sizes but it is not easy controlling the pupils.” She expressed gratitude to the school authorities and teachers for maintaining discipline in the school.
The team also donated assorted books to the School.
