History:
The Department of Environment, Governance and Sustainable Development (DEGSuD) at the School for Development Studies, University of Cape Coast, Ghana. The driving principles and goals of the Department are embodied in the vision and mission statements. The Department offers a range of postgraduate degree courses, which reflect the ‘centre stage’ that the department occupies within the environment, governance and sustainable development sector. There are a wide range of career opportunities available to the graduates. Our graduate teaching programmes provide quality, up-to-date training in environment, governance and sustainable development by a multi-disciplinary team of experts in their fields. The Department has a dynamic, vibrant and highly stimulating teaching and research environment which is achieved through a blend of high quality staff and students who are committed to learning and self-discovery. We welcome applications from students for our Master of Arts (MA) programmes. The choice of subject areas is extensive and we are confident that we have a course to suit your interests. The location of the Department which is at the North Campus of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) has many attractions ranging from sports to culture. The UCC campus is conveniently located within the Ancient City of Cape Coast with all the tourist attractions, such as Castles, Beaches, Parks and Educational facilities.
