The research is aimed at identifying the various sub-populations of Oreochromis niloticus in the Volta Lake of Ghana. This will serve as a basis for selective breeding and improvement of the fish species for aquaculture purposes. Secondly, the research also seeks to identify some factors that influence the choice of fingerlings/seed by fish farmers in the southern part of Ghana.
