The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Ghartey Ampiah has received some team members of the Healing Jesus Crusade led by the International Campaign Director, Pastor Lovell Nii Ankrah Jnr, at his office. The team was at the Vice-Chancellor’s office to inform him of the forthcoming Healing Jesus Crusade on UCC campus .

The Vice-Chancellor said he was happy to be receiving the team to campus for such an important crusade.
A Professor of the New Testament at the Department of Religion and Human Values of the University of Cape Coast, Rev. Prof. Eric Nii Bortey Hutsu Anum, has observed that millions of people are operating with a ‘closed’ Bible just similar to the initial period of the reception of the Bible during colonial times He said people consider the Bible to be very powerful for prophesies, healing, deliverance and all manner of spiritual activities. The Center for Teaching Support has held a training workshop for Teaching staff for the School of Educational Development and Outreach which took place at the Intelligent Unit of the ICT Center in the University of Cape Coast from the 15th of December 2016 to the 16th of December 2016.
The workshop commenced with prelude remarks by the Director for the Center, Dr. Douglas D. Agyei, where he highlighted the relevance of the workshop.
The Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. George K.T Oduro, on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Ghartey Ampiah, has inaugurated the newly-elected Board of Convocation to serve a two-year term of office.
The Board is chaired by Prof. Peter K.T Grant and includes Mr. Joseph A. Kizzie-Hayford, Vice-Chairman; Dr. Edem K. Baka, Teaching Representative.
Other members of the Board are Dr. Patrick Osei Kuffour, Teaching Representative; Ms. Joyce Sam, Non-Teaching Representative and Mr. Francis Obeng, Non-Teaching Representative.
The Confucius Institute (CI) at the University of Cape Coast (UCC) has organised an event to mark Chinese Spring Festival to signify the New Year on the Chinese Calendar. The Spring Festival, known as Chinese New Year, in China starts on the 22rd day of the 12th Lunar month of the Chinese calendar. The festival lasts for 23 days, ending on the 15th day of the first lunar month in the following year on the Chinese calendar.
The 9th Microfinance Conference organized under the auspices of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the College of Humanities and Legal Studies has opened at the University of Cape Coast (UCC). The two-day conference under the theme "The Future of Microfinance: Sustainability of Microfinance Institutions and Financial Inclusion" is being attended by players in the industry across the country". There will be presentation by various speakers from both industry and academia on various topics on Microfinance. In a speech delivered on his behalf by the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. George K.T.
The National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) Local Chapter of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) has organized a five-hour clean-up exercise on campus. The exercise, which was undertaken in collaboration with the UCC Central Cadet Corps, Department of Environmental Science and the Environmental Health Section, was aimed at sensitizing members of the University community on the need to keep the environment clean.
The Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. K.T Oduro, has assured students of colleges of education in the country that certificates awarded by the University of Cape Coast (UCC) are internationally recognized.
“No student can obtain UCC Certificate without meeting the minimum academic standards set by the Academic Board of the University,” he explained.
