The School of Allied Health Sciences (SAHS) has held a handover ceremony with a call on the newly appointed Heads of Department (HoD’s) to make their staff a priority.

Speaking at the function, the Dean of SAHS, Prof. Desmond Omane Acheampong, advised the new office holders to be fair to all in their respective departments.

“Be ready to apologize when you go wrong because it takes strong people to apologize,” he entreated them.

Prof. Omane Acheampong urged them not to take things personally but stand firm to defend decisions they take in their line of duty.

Retirees 2023

The University of Cape Coast (UCC) has honoured 141 retiring staff members after several years of service to the University.

 The retirees, who served the UCC between six and 42 years, were made up of 19 Senior Members, 33 Senior Staff and 89, Junior staff members.

They were honoured for their meritorious and dedicated services to UCC during the 2023 Send Off and Long Service Awards Ceremony held at the School of Medical Sciences Auditorium.

An Academia-Industry Research and Innovation Fair to foster long-lasting collaboration and partnership between key stakeholders in Academia and Industry to impact society and humanity at large has been held at the University of Cape Coast (UCC).

The fair was on theme, "Accelerating Progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in partnership with Industry." 

Research Cooperation

A delegation from the South Carolina University,USA headed by Dr. Mathew D. Guan the Dean of the College of Business and Information Systems,has concluded an official visit to the University of Cape Coast (UCC).

 The visit witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the School of Business of UCC and the College of Business and Information Systems of the South Carolina University. The agreement is aimed at promoting joint research activities including exchange of faculty members and research students.

Abanga Abdul-Karim Ibrahim making presentation

Mr. Abanga Abdul-Karim Ibrahim, a level 200 non-residential Bachelor of Commerce in Finance, of the College of Distance Education (CoDE) has won the maiden Student Idea Business Challenge.

 Organised by the Directorate of Research, Innovation and Consultancy (DRIC) and Design Thinking and Innovation Hub (D-HUB), the competition was a platform for industry players to scout innovative ideas among students.

The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has highlighted measures being implemented to sanitise the downstream petroleum industry through the enforcement of industry regulations. 

That, according to the NPA, was to ensure a level playing field for all operators.

The Chief Executive Officer of the NPA, Dr. Mustapha Abdul-Hamid, said this at the maiden edition of the Gown and the Town Series organised by the Faculty of Arts of the University of Cape Coast (UCC).

It was on the topic, "Downstream Petroleum Industry in Ghana; The State of Play."
