Economic Policy Modelling Unit
About College/Faculty/Department:
Economic Policy Modelling Unit (EPMU) is the policy-relevant research and analysis unit of the Department of Data Science and Economic Policy under the School of Economics, University of Cape Coast. The unit undertakes rigorous economic policy research and analysis to provide policy directions and advisory services for Ghana’s socio-economic development, and embarks on capacity building in policy modelling and economic analysis. We work together with other Departments in the University to interrogate data for policy pathways. We also work with other economic agencies (like Bank of Ghana, National Development Planning Commission (NDPC), Ministry of Finance, African Development Bank (AfDB), International Monetary Fund (IMF), United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) and the World Bank) to provide data-based assessments and policy roadmaps to promote peer learning and dissemination of analyses, research and shape advocacy tools for better economic outcomes.
