The Department of Sociology and Anthropology has organised the fifth Annual Conference on Social Behaviour and Conflict Management with a call on government, security agencies and election stakeholders to ensure a peace in the upcoming Presidential and Parliamentary Elections in the country.
The 2016 edition of the conference was on the theme “Managing Electoral Conflicts in Ghana’s 2016 Elections: Prospects and Challenges.”
As the President of the University of Cape Coast Association of Business Students (UCCABS) and a Representative of Business Students on the School of Business Development Fund Board of Trustees, Mr. Nicholas Kwame Adjei has been presented with a plaque for his dedicated and committed service to the Board during his tenure of office.

The Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. George K. T. Oduro has urged staff of the College of Distance Education who are on study leave at Kenyatta University, Kenya to make UCC proud by distinguishing themselves in their academic work.
He noted that they were offered scholarships to upgrade themselves in order to contribute meaningfully towards achieving the mandate of the UCC.
An official of the Public Affairs Department of the United States Embassy, Maya Parker, has called on the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. G. K. T. Oduro to discuss issues concerning cultural and research linkages with the University.
The Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. George K. T. Oduro has called on members of the National Executive Council of University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) to complement management’s effort to enhance the reputation of the Universities of Ghana both locally and internationally.
The Sam Jonah Library is organising series of workshops for all categories of staff to build their capacity.
The series of workshops are aimed at introducing staff to new developments in the operation of the library.
Activity areas for the workshops are “Reference Management Software Workshop (Mendeley),” “Abstracting, E-Resource Tools for Next Generation Librarians”, “Customer Care/Service” and ‘Cataloguing”. Participants are drawn from all the satellite libraries in the various colleges/ faculty/schools/departments in the University.
