The Chancellor of University of Cape Coast, UCC, Dr. (Sir) Sam Jonah, has challenged management and staff of the University to work tirelessly to maintain high academic standards to move the University forward.

According to him, UCC should not rest on its laurels over its ranking as the best in Ghana and Africa, but rather intensify efforts to strive for academic excellence to achieve more.

The University of Cape Coast, UCC, and Cardiff University, UK, have resolved to consolidate efforts to fight glaucoma - the leading cause of preventable irreversible blindness in Africa.

In view of this, a team of lecturers from the School of Optometry and Vision Science of Cardiff University are in UCC to collaborate with their counterparts at the Department of Optometry and Vision Science to work towards getting research grant to combat glaucoma in Africa.

Adequate supervision and monitoring in public basic schools are fundamental to improving standards and performance of students in English Language, Mathematics and Science (EMS) in the Central Region, a study has shown.

The study, “Curriculum Delivery in English Language, Mathematics and Science at Basic Schools in Central Region” was conducted by researchers from the College of Education Studies, University of Cape Coast (UCC) and funded by the Directorate of Research and Innovation Consultancy (DRIC)-UCC.

The Security Section of University of Cape Coast, UCC, has presented a Citation of Honour to the Director of Consular and General Services, Mrs. Alberta Yaa Graham. This was in appreciation of her commitment to the Section.

The presentation was made to Mrs. Graham by the Provost of the College of Agricultural and Natural Sciences (CANS), Prof. Moses Jojo Eghan, supported by Head of the Security Section, Col. (rtd) Joseph K. Baah Tsiquaye.

The University of Cape Coast, UCC, has promoted thirty-eight (38) security personnel to various ranks for their dedication to work.

Out of the number, there were thirty-seven (37) males and one (1) female.

The personnel were promoted to the ranks of Senior Officer, Assistant Senior Officer and Senior Guard (Grades 1 and 2).

The University of Cape Coast (UCC) has appointed Prof. Daniel Agyapong as the Director of the Directorate of Academic Planning and Quality Assurance (DAPQA)

His appointment takes effect from August 1, 2022 and he will serve a term of three years.

The University of Cape Coast, UCC, has appointed Prof. Kwame Osei Kwarteng as the Provost of the College of Humanities and Legal Studies (CHLS).

His appointment takes effect on 1st August, 2022 and he will serve a term of three years.

Prof. Kwarteng is currently the Dean of the Faculty of Arts. He becomes the third to occupy the position in the history of the College.
