49 Pupils from Togo and Ivory Coast Arrive at UCC on one-month Study Visit

A group of 49 pupils from some basic schools in Togo and Ivory Coast are in UCC on a one-month study visit. This is part of the language immersion programme.

While at UCC, the pupils will learn the English Language at the UCC Basic School. 

The pupils, made up of 40 Ivorians and 9 Togolese, have been assigned Ghanaian mother-figures who will take care of them throughout their stay in Ghana.

The Head of UCC Basic School (South Campus), Mrs. Georgina Aglobtse, at a brief ceremony to welcome the visiting pupils and their teachers to UCC, described the educational tour by the students as "home away from home" and assured them of a comfortable stay whilst in Ghana. 

She expressed gratitude to the hosting families for their sacrifice. 

Mr. Hilaire Biossey, a teacher at the College Planque, Togo, in a brief remark, thanked the management of UCC Basic School for the warm hospitality.

He said he looked forward to seeing that the French students would grasp the English Language with alacrity at the end of the one-month exchange programme. 

Their itinerary includes visits to basic, senior high and tertiary institutions, as well as orphanages and special schools for physically-challenged children in the Greater Accra, Central, Eastern and Ashanti Regions.
