The Strategic Plan sub-committee of the Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA) has held a two-day retreat in Elmina to develop a strategic plan for the union.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, the National President of GAUA, Mr. Kwabena Antwi-Konadu, said the retreat was aimed at producing a strategic plan and framework that would provide the roadmap to align the union's functional activities to achieve their set goals.
"We come from a rich background as University administrators and managers and therefore, we need to move to a higher level," he added.
Mr. Antwi-Konadu noted that as one of the formidable unions in public universities, GAUA had always distinguished itself and contributed to the growth of public universities in the country. “We have significantly contributed our quota to the excellent feat public universities have chalked in the country. We, therefore, need this strategic plan to guide us and also empower our members to make themselves significant in their respective portfolios,” he added.
Participants were made up of national executives and representatives of past executives and local branches.
