The UCC 1998 Alumni Year Group has donated sanitary items and medical equipment valued at GH ¢75, 000 to the University Health Services as part of efforts to fight COVID-19.
The items included gallons of detergents, hand sanitizers, and seven nebulizers.
Showing Appreciation
Presenting the items the organiser of the Association, Mrs. Christa Osei-Mensah, said the donation was a way of showing appreciation for the quality training they received from the University which has propelled them to enviable positions in life. She indicated that the Hospital was one of the important facilities serving the health needs of the entire University Community. “As students, the Hospital took care of our health needs and it is significant that we also give back especially at this crucial time” she indicated.
UCC Hospital is Well Prepared
Receiving the items, the Director of University Health Services, Dr. Evans Ekanem, thanked the alumni group for the donation. He noted that the Hospital was well prepared to deal with cases of COVID-19 and at the same time deliver quality healthcare to the University Community and the general public. “We are grateful that you have remembered us even in these difficult times,” he added.
Dr. Ekanem assured that the items would be put to good use to augment quality service delivery.
