The University of Cape Coast (UCC) lived up to its ‘host and win’ mantra to emerge winners with 18 gold, 18 silver and 17 bronze medals at the just ended 28th edition of Ghana Universities Sports Association (GUSA 2024) Games held in Cape Coast.
This is the first time in ten years that a university has hosted and won the games.
The University picked up seven trophies from basketball (male and female), hockey (female), netball (female), volleyball (male and female) and tennis (male).
The University of Cape Coast (UCC) School of Nursing and Midwifery has hosted nursing students from Salisbury University, USA, as part of efforts to enhance academic partnerships and promote cross-cultural collaboration in healthcare education.

A Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Good Neighbors Ghana, has presented 50,000 tablets of Praziquantel valued at $5,750 to the Biomedical and Clinical Research Centre of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) to support the treatment of Schistosomiasis in communities within the Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly.
This gesture follows earlier interactions between Good Neighbors and the Centre, during which the two organisations engaged with communities relying on the Kakum River as a water source.
The North America Alumni Group of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) has donated equipment and accessories valued at GH₵ 75,000 to the newly-established Disability Study Centre.
The donation, which took place at the Centre, included Smart Security Cameras, Sony Sound Recorders, Otoscope, Headsets, HP Laser Printer, Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS), LG UHD TV, and Air Conditioners.
