The University of Cape Coast has launched the official logo for it’s 60th Anniversary Celebrations which will climax in October 2022. The final design of the logo was chosen through a competition. Mr. Asare Okae Anti, an Alumnus of the University of Cape Coast, donated an amount of Ghc6000 to the top 3 winners of the competition.

The University of Cape Coast Governing Council, at its Special Meeting held on Wednesday, 24th Novemebr, 2021, appointed Prof. (Mrs.) Rosemond Boohene as the new Pro Vice-Chancellor of the University to take office from 1st January, 2022.

She takes over from the incumbent Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dora F. Edu-Buandoh, whose term of office ends on 31st December, 2021.

The Curriculum Review Team met and interacted with the Provost, Deans, Directors and Heads of Department of the College of Humanities and Legal Studies. The workshop took place at the Elizabeth Adabbor conference room of the Institute of Education, University of Cape Coast.

The Centre for Gender Research, Advocacy and Documentation (CEGRAD) under the auspices of the Vice-Chancellor has held a launch of an Advisory Board. The primary function of the advisory board is to give strategic directions to the Centre.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong has announced that the newly-constructed School of Graduate Studies Complex will become operational by the end of 2021.

Prof. Boampong stated that the new complex has state-of-the-art facilities that would help enhance postgraduate work within the University. He added that the structure represents one of the largest investments in postgraduate education in the University in recent times.

The Centre for Gender Research, Advocacy and Documentation (CEGRAD), University of Cape Coast, has held a special programme for the University Primary School pupils to mark the International Day of the Girl Child 2021. The theme of the event was “My Voice - Our Equal Future” with a sub theme “Digital Generation – Our Generation”.

 

The maiden Farmer’s Market event kicked started the UCC`s World Food Day celebration. The World Food Day is an international day celebrated every year worldwide on 16th of October to commemorate the date of the founding of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization in 1945. The day is celebrated widely by many other organizations concerned with hunger and food security, including the World Food Program, the World Health Organization and the International Fund for Agricultural Development.

University of Cape Coast celebrated the annual International Breast Cancer awareness month. As part of the awareness campaign a free breast cancer screening was organized for the staff of the University.  This was the ninth time the Breast Cancer screening was arranged on campus.
