To hone the writing skills of its students, the Department of Communication Studies of University of Cape Coast has launched an Electronic-Newsletter (E-Newsletter) , “The Dew”.

Aside voicing the opinion of students on issues of interest to them as well as evolving societal matters, the newsletter will offer the students a platform to learn.

One unique aspect with the E-newsletter is that most of the columns - including alumni, editorial and articles, among others - are written by the students who employ simple language which makes for easy understanding by readers.

Also contained in the newsletter are pages where almost all faculty members, non-teaching staff of the Department, as well as teaching assistants’ information can be found.

"The Dew" would be managed by an editorial team including Dr. Daniel Edem Adzovie, a lecturer, Miss Eunice Eshun, a Principal Research Assistant and a national service person, Andrew Donkor all of the Department of Communication Studies.

Launching the newsletter, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Prof. Kwabena Sarfo Sarfo-Kantanka, encouraged the students to make good use of the Newsletter because it was important for all students of Communication Studies. He said he would do his level best to provide the necessary communication equipment to the Department to facilitate the studies of students.

The Head of the Department, Prof. William Kodom Gyasi, appealed to the students to capitalize on the newsletter to be responsible journalists in the country.
