The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast (UCC), Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong, has received a delegation from the Ghana Universities Sports Association (GUSA).
The delegation, led by the Dean of Graduate Studies at the University of Energy and Natural Resources, Prof. Dominic Otoo, visited the Vice-Chancellor to discuss the readiness of UCC to host the upcoming GUSA games.
Prof. Boampong addressing the meeting was grateful to the delegation for the visit and pointed out that UCC was noted for excellence in all areas of endeavour and as such was poised to organise one of the best competitions in the history of GUSA games.

He assured the delegation that the University was hastening the upgrading of its facilities to meet standards.
After extensive deliberation, the delegation and the Vice-Chancellor fixed January 3- 18,2025, as the proposed dates for the games.
The delegation included the Director of Sports at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Mr. Timothy Kwabena Mensah, and the GUSA Technical Committee Chairman, Mr. Julius Baba Apidogo.
Present at the meeting were the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Rosemond Boohene, as well as other UCC officials.
