UCC Swears in New SRC Executives

New executives of the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) have been sworn into office for the 2024/2025 academic year.

The short swearing-in ceremony took place at the new Academic Board Chamber.

The new executives are Abraham Norman Nortey (President), Bridget Boahemaa Opoku (Vice-President), Elisaphet Kwabena Opare (Treasurer), and Freda Kumi (Women’s Commissioner).

The rest are Felix Nana Wiafe (PRO), Patience Sarpong Akuoko (Coordinating Secretary), Abubakari Abdul-Quddous (General Sports Secretary) and Barbara Nti Nkansah (Local NUGS President), Georgina Osei Quansah (Local NUGS Secretary).

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong, addressing the elected officers, congratulated them on their election and inauguration.

He told them to work together to achieve their goals for the student body.

The Vice-Chancellor cautioned them not to use their position to lord over the students.

He assured the executives of the commitment of management to work with them.

The new SRC President, Abraham Norman Nortey, thanked the students for the confidence reposed in him and said the privilege to serve would not be abused. 

He pledged to work assiduously to promote the welfare of students in the University.

 

He called for unity and collaboration among the student body and the university administration.
