The UCC Sam Jonah Endowment Fund has presented a 33-seater Toyota Coaster bus to the Faculty of Law at a ceremony at the forecourt of the Main Administration Block. The gesture was in response to an appeal made by the Faculty for a bus to transport law students to observe both civil and criminal proceedings at various law courts to enable them to get practical knowledge of the Ghanaian legal system. The Chairman of the Fund and Paramount Chief of Assin Owirenkyi Traditional Area, Nana Prah Agyensaim VI, who presented the bus, indicated that the donation would help the students to get first-hand observations of "various judgements, trials in courts and also the traditional courts". That, he said, would enrich their knowledge in the law profession. The Vice Dean of the Faculty, Mr. Kwame Owusu, who received the keys to the bus, expressed appreciation to the management of the Fund for the gesture. He noted that the donation was timely since it would facilitate movement of students to engaged in internships at the Judiciary, Attorney General and the House of Chiefs. As a symbolic gesture, Nana Prah Agyensaim VI, along with some dignitaries at the short ceremony, including the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Ghartey Ampiah; the Pro-Vice -Chancellor, Prof. G.K.T. Oduro; Registrar, Mr. John Kofi Nyan and some Board of Trustees of Sam Jonah Endowment Fund joined the bus for a ceremonial drive.
