The Teachers and Education Workers Union (TEWU) and Senior Staff Association of the University of Cape Coast (SSAUCC) Brass Band has been inaugurated with a call on members of the University community and the general public to patronize it. The immediate past Provost of the College of Agriculture and Natural Sciences, Prof. Samuel Yeboah Mensah, who made the call, commended the two associations for introducing the Brass Band, which is the first of its kind by the two unions in the University.

Four officials from Nyansapo College have paid a courtesy call on the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. George K. T. Oduro, to thank UCC for providing good mentorship to the College. The leadership of the Students' Representative Council (SRC) has paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Information, Hon. Mustapha Abdul Hamid, at his office in Accra. The visit was intended to congratulate the minister on his appointment and introduce the newly-elected SRC officials. Receiving the SRC delegation, Hon. Mustapha Hamid expressed gratitude to the executives for the visit and honour done him. In pursuance of its mandate of improving teaching and learning in higher education, the Centre for Teaching Support (CTS) of the College of Education Studies of UCC has extended its services to faculty of the School of Medical Sciences, University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS-SMS).

The Centre for Teaching Support organised a week training workshop for 35 faculty of UHAS-SMS on the theme “Improving Teaching Methodologies: Andragogical approaches and Strategies with Information & Communication Technology (ICT)” at Ho in the Volta Region.

The UCC Sam Jonah Endowment Fund has presented a 33-seater Toyota Coaster bus to the Faculty of Law at a ceremony at the forecourt of the Main Administration Block. The gesture was in response to an appeal made by the Faculty for a bus to transport law students to observe both civil and criminal proceedings at various law courts to enable them to get practical knowledge of the Ghanaian legal system.

A send-off ceremony has been held for the 2016/17 National Service Personnel posted to the University of Cape Coast (UCC). The personnel, numbering 750, were posted to the University after completing their tertiary education to undertake their mandatory national service.
