A three-day training workshop on Strengthening Capacity for Ocean Governance and Negotiating Fair and Sustainable Fisheries Access Arrangements in Africa has opened at the University of Cape Coast(UCC).
The workshop is being organized by the African Union-InterAfrican Bureau for Animal Resources (AU-IBAR) in collaboration with the Africa Union(AU) Centre of Excellence in Marine Fisheries and Coastal Zone Management at UCC.
The University of Cape Coast, UCC, and the University of Connecticut, UCONN, USA, have resolved to step up academic cooperation that will be beneficial to each party.
In view of this, a horde of students from the University of Connecticut would pay a reciprocal visit to UCC in January 2023 to learn at first-hand the academic activities in the University.
The Pro Vice-Chancellor of University of Cape Coast (UCC), Prof. Mrs. Rosemond Boohene, has received in audience a Fulbright Scholar, Dr. Timothy A. Wingert, from the University of Incarnate, USA.

The Centre for Gender Research, Advocacy and Documentation, CEGRAD, University of Cape Coast has held a stakeholder workshop for Girls’ Education Officers of the Ghana Education Service (GES) in the Central region.
The workshop was aimed at equipping officers with the required knowledge and skills to effectively handle defilement cases.
Held at the University of Cape Coast, it was on the theme: “Defilement, the Law and the Role of Girls Education Officers.”
The Central Regional Director of the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Ghana Police Service, Chief Superintendent George Appiah-Sakyi, has explained that men cannot be raped under the laws of Ghana.
"In matters of rape, only girls and women can be raped in Ghana. No man can be raped in Ghana. That is the law- section 97," he pointed out.
