An expert in Air Quality Measurement, Dr. Charles Odame-Ankrah, has called for the implementation of a rigorous air monitoring scheme to ensure better health for people.
Speaking on the topic, “Air Quality and Health: Why we should worry” at a joint public lecture organised under the auspices of the Department of Population and Health and the Faculty of Social Sciences, Dr. Odame-Ankrah noted that air pollution was one of the causes of death in the world.

UCC Sports team emerged overall champions with a total of 64 medals consisting of 28 gold, 23 silver, and 13 bronze at the Games.
The University of Cape Coast (UCC) maintained its dominance at the Ghana Universities Sports Association (GUSA) Games as they put up a sterling performance to win their ninth GUSA title, from five main GUSA competitions and four won at mini GUSA campaigns, in the history of the competition.
UCC dominance
The UCC team won their first GUSA title in 2012 at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi and went on to win the mini GUSA title in 2013, 2014, 2015, and the main in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020.
The University has matriculated 59 inmates of the Nsawam Medium Security Prison in the Eastern Region who have been admitted to pursuing their studies through the College of Distance Education (CoDE).
Out of the total number, 32 are pursuing Diploma in Education(Junior High School) whiles 19 are studying Diploma in Commerce (Management option) and eight opted for the Diploma in Commerce (Accounting option).

After 11 days of thrilling battles between sportsmen and ladies, it is the University of Cape Coast (UCC) who leads the medal table for the most accumulation of silverware in the ongoing Ghana Universities Sports Association (GUSA) Games.
The ranking is based on the three concluded sporting disciplines – tennis, athletics, and goalball.
The University has graduated the Second Cohort of the Diploma in Midwifery programme at the 6th and 7th sessions of the 52nd Congregation.
A total of 2,857 graduates comprising 2,808 females and 49 males who pursued their studies in 26 Nursing and Midwifery Training Colleges (NMTCs) across the country were conferred diplomas at the ceremony.
