A two-week workshop dubbed “Cape Coast Harmattan School 2016” has been opened at the University of Cape Coast. The workshop, which has the theme: “Re-Activating Gender Sensitive Research on Land” will seek to enhance the capacity of academics in the area of gender and also form a strong network of gender advocates in Africa and around the globe. It attracted participants from Ghana, Nigeria, Sudan, Uganda, Ethiopia, Ireland and Germany.

Northern Consortium, United Kingdom (NCUK), has expressed interest to partner the University of Cape Coast to facilitate training and admission of students to universities in the United Kingdom. This came to light when the Marketing Development Executive of NCUK, Mr. Andrew Straughan interacted with management and some heads of Department on the activities of NCUK at the Academic Board Chamber, North Campus.
As a way of reviewing and evaluating the School’s and Departmental Strategic Plans, a team of fifteen (15) consisting some members of the School of Business and the College Finance Officer of the College of Humanities and Legal Studies have participated in a two-day retreat at BIRDROCK Hotel, Anomabo from 21st- 23rd February, 2016. Members also discussed among other things issues on curricula, establishment of a business village, research agenda, creation of new departments, workshops and conferences for faculty and staff, and requirements for programme accreditation

She described, women as agents of change and therefore called on students of the hall to put in more effort to take up leadership responsibilities as a way of contributing their quota to national development.
A team from the Department of Optometry has conducted eye screening exercise for teachers and pupils of the Salvation Army School for the deaf at Swedru in the Central Region, as part of their outreach programme.
The team also presented spectacles to those whose eyes were examined during the exercise. The team which was led by Head of Department, Prof. (Mrs.) Nathalie G. Mensah included Dr. Emmanuel Kwasi Abu, Dr. Samuel Kyei and Dr. Samuel Abokyi as well as some final year Optometry students.
