The “Youth Enrichment through Sports” YES Ghana has donated sports equipment to selected basic schools in the Cape Coast metropolis.
The schools were the University of Cape Coast Primary School, Bakatsir Methodist Junior High School, OLA Presbyterian Basic School, University Practice Senior High School and Apewosika M/A Basic School.
A delegation of Assessors from the University of Cape Coast Committee on Institutional Affiliation have met with staff of the Nurse Anaesthesia Training School(NATS), Ridge Hospital in Accra to interact and inspect facilities at the school.
The visit of the assessors was aimed at finalising NATS affiliation to the University of Cape Coast School of Nursing. Currently the Ministry of Health has approved the affiliation of degree top-up programmes of 12 Nursing Training Institutions to the University of Cape Coast.
The Chairman of the University of Cape Coast Council, Nana Sam Brew Butler has urged graduates of the University to be pioneers of teaching and learning that are tailored toward promoting sustainable development.
He emphasised that the fact that Ghana has reached a point where education for sustainable is a necessity saying “Your lessons ought to empower students irrespective of their ages to assume responsibility to plan for, cope with, find solutions to issues and encourage changes in behaviour towards creating sustainable future.”

Two officials from Roche, a leading health care provider based in Switzerland with a subsidiary in Ghana has held a workshop for staff of the UCC Hospital to build their capacity on Hepatitis B & C.
The workshop is aimed at training the staff to effectively carry out screening and diagnosing Hepatitis B & C on a pilot basis at the University of Cape Coast. The workshop forms part of a project by Roche to fight the disease in the country.
The School of Graduate Studies (SGS) has held a seminar for Directors of Institutes, Heads of Department, and Co-ordinators of Units in the University to discuss the reviewed academic policies and regulations for graduate studies.
The old academic policies and regulations which expired in 2015 has been reviewed and would become operational in 2016.
A team of final year students from the University of North Eastern University, Boston, Massachusetts in the United States of America(USA) has paid an educational visit to the University Primary School.
The team comprising three (3) graduates and 16 college students spent two days at the Primary School interacting with teachers and pupils. Explaining the purpose of the visit, leader of the team, Ms. Jamie Silverstein said the visit formed part of an educational exchange programme where final year students spend some time in other countries to experience their educational system.
The University of Cape Coast School of Business(UCCSoB) in pursuance of its vision to become the best Business School in Africa has launched a development fund in Accra to propel the school to deliver on its mandate. The fund is managed by a nine-member board of trustees, who are expected to invest in the development of infrastructure, student support, as well as teaching and research activities.
The University of Cape Diamond Club has held its first working session at Tang Palace Hotel, Accra to develop strategies to guide members to promote the image of the university and enhance Higher Education in Ghana.
