Twenty-six workers of the Directorate of University Health Services have been honoured for their dedication and hard work towards improving service delivery at the UCC hospital this year.
The award scheme was designed to recognise and celebrate outstanding performance and meritorious service by individual health workers to motivate them to do more and inspire others.
All the award winners received plaques and mementoes.

The Chief Executive Officer of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Dr. Mustapha Abdul-Hamid, has given a facelift to the office of the Head of Department of History and Diplomacy at the University of Cape Coast (UCC).
The renovation work, which was estimated at GH 80, 000, included an executive desk, swivel chair, printer, power board, ceiling fan, soap dispenser and book cabinet.
The University of Cape Coast Hospital has been adjudged the best health facility in the Central Region in this year’s peer review programme with a score of 97.2 per cent.
The peer review programme was introduced by the Ministry of Health and Ghana Health Services to improve and promote quality health care in the country.
As part of the assessment, assessors from various hospitals used a checklist score system in accessing and measuring the performance of each hospital annually.
New executives of the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) have been sworn into office for the 2024/2025 academic year.
The short swearing-in ceremony took place at the new Academic Board Chamber.
The new executives are Abraham Norman Nortey (President), Bridget Boahemaa Opoku (Vice-President), Vivian Mensah (Secretary), Elisaphet Kwabena Opare (Treasurer), and Freda Kumi (Women’s Commissioner).
Goldfields Ghana Foundation has presented scholarships to 40 students of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) for the 2024/2025 academic year.
The beneficiary students were drawn from the 19 host communities of the Tarkwa and Damang Mines.
Presenting the cheque, the Executive Secretary of Gold Fields Ghana Foundation, Mr. Abdel Razak Yakubu, urged the awardees to effectively utilise the scholarship to excel in their education, and assured them of the continuous support of the Foundation.

The University of Cape Coast (UCC) has graduated the first batch of the 3-semester career-oriented programme known as the SWITCH 3.1.
Run by the College of Distance Education (CoDE) UCC, the programme offers specialisations in various fields, including Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, English, Management, and Home Economics.
These fields were carefully selected to align with national priorities and address gaps in teaching expertise across Ghana.

National Service Personnel of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) have been advised to build valuable networks as they form part of the engines through which they could progress in society.
They were urged to respect networks as they built them.
A Capacity-building workshop aimed at equipping participants with critical 21st Century Skills for professional development has been organised for some selected National Service personnel from the University of Cape Coast (UCC).
Participants for the workshop were thoughtfully chosen, with particular emphasis on young women, Persons with disabilities (PWDs), and a select group of male participants.
