Government's flagship programme of Planting for Food and Jobs could partly address north-south seasonal labour migration in Ghana.

An Emeritus Professor at Iowa State University, USA, Prof. Andrew Manu, is calling for the use of unmanned aerial systems (drone) for the expansion of rice production enterprise in the country.

He was optimistic that the use of drone technology to upscale rice production to sustain the sector.

Prof Manu made the remarks when he took his turn at the Research Seminar Series organised by the School of Agriculture of the University of Cape.

The Director-General of the Institute for Educational Planning and Administration (IEPA) of University of Cape Coast, Dr. Michael Boakye-Yiadom, has received in audience the Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum.

The Minister was at the Institute to acquaint himself with the operations of IEPA since its elevation to the status of a UNESCO Category II Centre of Excellence for West Africa in 2021.

The Students' Financial Support Office (StuFSO) of University of Cape Coast (UCC), has organised an awardees' symposium for brilliant but needy students who are on the University’s Scholarship.

The event was aimed at building the capacity of the students to gain applicable knowledge and the soft skills necessary to develop the right mindset for excelling in the world of work.

A Professor of Epidemiology and Public Health at the University of Cape Coast, Prof. David Teye Doku, has underscored the need for society to fix the key causes of health inequalities.

According to him, society had deliberately ignored non-medical factors that influence health outcomes of its populace.

Prof. Doku was speaking at his inaugural lecture on the topic, "The Causes of the Causes: Is Society the producer of its own health and ill-health?"

A group of 49 pupils from some basic schools in Togo and Ivory Coast are in UCC on a one-month study visit. This is part of the language immersion programme.

While at UCC, the pupils will learn the English Language at the UCC Basic School. 

The pupils, made up of 40 Ivorians and 9 Togolese, have been assigned Ghanaian mother-figures who will take care of them throughout their stay in Ghana. 

Participants in the maiden Research Summer School organised by the Directorate of Research, Innovation and Consultancy (DRIC) of University of Cape Coast (UCC) have expressed gratitude to the University for the opportunity to be part of the event.

The five-day Summer School equipped participants with core skills and tools on article writing, grant proposal writing, researcher visibility, time and stress management, and scientific presentation skills.
