The Provost of the College of Education Studies, Prof. Ernest Kofi Davis, has welcomed a delegation of faculty members from York University, USA. The delegation was led by an Assistant Professor at the School of Nursing, Faculty of Health-York University, Prof. Catriona Buick.

A total of two hundred and seventy-nine (279) students have been honoured at the 2022 Dean’s Awards ceremony of the School of Business of University of Cape Coast (UCC).

The Ceremony, held annually to celebrate and motivate high performing students who have obtained a CGPA of 3.6 and above at levels 200 to 400, was on the theme, “Academic Excellence and Skills Demand.” 

Aside regular classroom activities, the University of Cape Coast (UCC) gives avenue for students to also discover and learn about Ghana, especially the various tourist destinations in the country.

Against this backdrop, the Geographical Society (GESOC) at the Department of Geography and Regional Planning-UCC seized the chance to offer its members the golden opportunity to experience the beauty of Ghana’s natural and unique wildlife.

Diploma in Midwifery graduates at the 8th Session of 55th Congregation

The Vice- Chancellor, Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong, has advised midwives to see the midwifery profession as a calling to save lives of expectant mothers and newborn babies.

"Being a midwife is not just a job. It is a calling. A calling dedicated to caring for and empowering women and ensuring the wellbeing of both mothers and babies during and after childbirth," he remarked.

The University of Cape Coast, UCC, has signed a Memoranda of Understanding with several universities in Africa aimed at delivering quality distance education beyond the shores of Ghana to other African nationals.

In that regard, the College of Distance Education (CoDE)-UCC is in the process of establishing a world-class e-learning studio to engage in technology-driven education for both local and international students.

The University of Cape Coast, UCC, has honoured the immediate past Registrar of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (N&MC), Mr. Felix Nyante, with a citation for his exceptional and sterling leadership in the health sector.

He was recognised at the 8th  Session of the 55th  Congregation held for graduands who pursued top up Diploma in Midwifery programme offered by UCC.

Sanford

The University of Cape Coast (UCC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sanford World Clinics-Ghana (Sanford) to establish cooperative relations.

The MoU focuses on development of academic and cultural interchange in education, exchange of staff and other areas of interest between UCC School of Nursing and Sanford.

Other areas covered by the MoU include seminars and academic meetings; exchange of academic materials and information; special short-term academic programmes such as training and workshops and academic and staff development projects.

A Carnegie African Diaspora Fellow and Clinical Psychologist from Syracuse University, USA, Prof. Ignatius N. Ijere, has explained that there is no research to prove that addiction can be cured.

According to him, however, addiction can be managed and treated successfully.
