The Dean of the School of Allied Health Sciences of the University of Cape Coast (UCC), Prof. Desmond Omane Acheampong, has revived calls for complete elimination of taxes on imported equipment and consumables for research in the country.

He argued that such a measure would encourage private industries to support academic institutions with high-powered equipment to drive the Ghanaian economy with technology, as well as the generation of research ideas by both academia and industry.

The Cape Coast Society of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICAG) has launched its 10th anniversary with a call on members to equip themselves with the progress of Artificial Intelligence to leverage on its potential for the future of the Accounting profession.

The celebration is on the theme: " Promoting Professionalism in Accountancy Building Partnership for Sustainability and Expanding our Networks for Nation Building".

 

The UCC Wildcats, the men's  basketball team of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) have sealed a 21-12 win over Kenya-based US International University to be crowned winners of the 5th Federation of Africa University Sports (FASU) 3x3 Basketball Championship in Johannesburg, South Africa.

 

 

The Faculty of Law of University of Cape Coast has held the 10th Jurists’ Confab with a call on legal professionals to aim at excellence in their work.

The confab was on the theme “The Making of a Legal Luminary: The Lawyer, Judge and Legal Academic”.

The School of Economics of the University of Cape Coast has entered into agreement with Higher School of Economics (HSE) University, Russia to promote academic cooperation between the two institutions.

Specifically, the agreement aims at promoting joint research, staff and students exchanges and explore other areas that will advance the cause of the collaboration.

The agreement is expected to be sealed with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two universities in Russia in September, 2023.

The Students’ Parliamentary Council of University of Cape Coast has resumed sitting for the second meeting of the second session of the 20th Parliament with a call on members to remain steadfast to the legislative duty of the House.

 

To hone the writing skills of its students, the Department of Communication Studies of University of Cape Coast has launched an Electronic-Newsletter (E-Newsletter) , “The Dew”.

Aside voicing the opinion of students on issues of interest to them as well as evolving societal matters, the newsletter will offer the students a platform to learn.

 

The University of Cape Coast (UCC) is set to send students to China for internship programmes at the Hunan City University.

This came to light following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between UCC and the Hunan City University. The partnership will last for five years, after which it will be re-assessed for impact and continuation.                     

 

The School of Allied Health Sciences has rewarded a total of thirty-seven (37) students at its 2023 edition of the Dean's Award for their remarkable academic performance in the 2022 Academic Year.

The Dean's Award ceremony is held yearly to celebrate students who have obtained a CGPA of 3.6 and above at Levels 200 to 400.

Each student received a certificate and an undisclosed cash prize for their accomplishments.
