Africa CDC supports Dept. of Medical Laboratory Science

The Department of Medical Laboratory Science of the University of Cape Coast has been presented with laboratory consumables valued at GH¢ 3,000.
 
The items, which included 2,400 pieces of blood collection vacuum glass tubes, will help in the training of students to collect and store blood samples in the laboratory.
 
The Ghana's representative to the Africa Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC), Dr. Bernard Nkrumah, made the donation.

Making the presentation on behalf of the donor, a Medical Laboratory Scientist at the Directorate  of Medical University Health Services, Mr. Samuel Amoah said the donation was to support teaching and practical sessions in the Department.
 
He was hopeful that the donation would help boost academic work in the Department.
 
Receiving the equipment, the Head of the Department of Medical Laboratory Science, Prof. Richard Kobina Dadzie Ephraim, expressed gratitude to Dr. Nkrumah for the support.
 
He indicated that the consumables would greatly facilitate laboratory work at the Department. 
 
“We look forward to more support from Dr. Nkrumah and I urged individuals and organisations to emulate this kind gesture in order to enhance quality teaching, learning and research in the Department,” he stated.
