The Chief Executive Officer of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Dr. Mustapha Abdul-Hamid, has given a facelift to the office of the Head of Department of History and Diplomacy at the University of Cape Coast (UCC).
The renovation work, which was estimated at GH 80, 000, included an executive desk, swivel chair, printer, power board, ceiling fan, soap dispenser and book cabinet.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Dr. Hamid, who is also a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Religion and Human Values, UCC, said he wanted to be part of the history and success story of the Department that was why he offered to renovate the office.
He said he believed that a good working environment was essential in getting workers to be dedicated and committed to their work therefore any attempt to beautify the workplace must be embraced by all.
Dr. Hamid added that the new look of the office would go a long way to motivate staff to give of their best.
For her part, the Head of Department , Dr. Martha Alibah, expressed gratitude to Dr. Hamid for the gesture.

She said the new office marked a significant milestone in the Department’s journey towards efficiency and excellence.
The Provost of the College of Humanities and Legal Studies, Prof. Kwame Osei Kwarteng, commended Dr. Hamid for his benevolence.
He called on other public-spirited individuals and organisations to emulate the example.
