The School of Nursing and Midwifery of the University of Cape Coast has organised a farewell dinner for American students from the Kirkhof College of Nursing, Grand Valley State University (GVSU), USA.
The visit by the students was aimed at exposing them to hands-on practical knowledge and experience of the Ghanaian healthcare system.
The students, numbering about 13, toured the numerous hospitals and Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) Compounds in the Cape Coast Metropolis.
Experience
The students were excited at the opportunity, stressing that they had learnt a lot about Ghanaian culture and language among several others.
The team leader of the Grand Valley State University delegation, Prof. Susan Strouse, said the delegation was intrigued by the Ghanaian hospitality.
She said she was happy about the impact of the study tour on the American students.
According to her, the students were abreast of the operations of the Ghanaian healthcare system and praised the School of Nursing and Midwifery-UCC for the partnership that had become a boon to nursing students of Grand Valley State University to upgrade their professional skills.

The Dean of the School of Nursing and Midwifery-UCC, Dr. Nancy Ebu Enyan, in a brief address, said it was exciting to realise the foreign students were committed and willing to contribute their quota to help improve Ghana's healthcare sector.
She said she was positive about the impact of the collaboration and expressed the hope that the visiting students could effectively practice what they had been taught during their visit to Ghana.
Dr. Enyan encouraged the students to give their best in service to humanity.
As part of the event, the faculty from both universities exchanged gifts.
