A two-day workshop for faculty members of Faculty of Educational Foundations

A two-day training workshop was organized for faculty members of Faculty of Educational Foundations by the Center for Teaching Support. The workshop was themed: “ICT Use and Its Importance in Academic Practice”. The goal of the workshop was to equip participants with the critical skills needed to enhance their teaching in a digital age, and also boost the quality of learning engaged by their students. The objectives of the training workshop included the following: Provide participants with insight into the University Rankings system and the indicators for ranking universities Provide participants with opportunity to examine and reflect on their own professional practices in the light of Professional Learning Networks Equip participants with the requisite skills for developing their own Google Scholar platforms Equip participants with skills and competencies in the use of ICT tools (E-learning), to promote interactive learning, discussion and thinking in lesson delivery. A variety of methods were used in delivering the content of the workshops which include Lectures, Discussions, Hands-on-activities and Films. Trainers were drawn from the College of Education Studies, UCC to make presentations on the topics for the workshop and they are Dr. Douglas D. Agyei, Dr. Fredrick Ato Armah and Mr. Enoch Ansah Apori. Other coordinators for the training programme were Dr. Awo Sarpong and Mr K. Biney, with support from the CTS Admin Team.
