UCC appoints Prof. Ernest Kofi Davis as Provost of College of Education Studies

The University of Cape Coast, UCC, has approved the appointment of Prof. Ernest Kofi Davis as the Provost of the College of Education Studies.

His appointment takes effect on August 1, 2022 and he will serve a term of three years.

Prof Davis holds Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Mathematics Education from the Monash University, Melbourne, Australia.

He also holds Master of Arts (M.A., MA, A.M., or AM) in Mathematics Education from the Hiroshima University, Hiroshima, Japan.

He graduated from UCC in 1999 with Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) in Mathematics.

In 2007, he was awarded Monash Graduate Scholarship (MGS) from the Monash University, Australia.

In 2011, the British Academy awarded him the British Academy Visiting Scholar Award.

The Directorate of Research and Innovation Consultancy, DRIC, UCC, also gave him the Inter-Departmental Research Support Grant.

In 2018, he served as Vice-President of the Ghana Education Research Association (GERA-Ghana).

Prof Davis has served as a member on the following professional bodies:

· Ghana Mathematics Society

· Mathematics Association of Ghana (MAG)

· World Education Research Association (WERA)

· University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG)

· Southern African Association of Mathematics, Science and Technology Education (SAARMSTE)
