UCC holds Virtual Matriculation Ceremony for College of Distance Education Fresh Students

The University of Cape Coast has held a virtual matriculation ceremony for fresh students of the

College of Distance Education for the 2020/2021 Academic Year.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong, congratulated

matriculants and assured them of Management’s commitment to provide a conducive academic

environment for their studies. He said, "The commitment you make to your studies from today

will determine the quality of knowledge, skills and competencies that you acquire at the end of

your program. Your primary objective for coming to this University is to study hard towards the

attainment of your degree or diploma. Always remember that you need to work hard on this

journey and hard work never fails."

 

He commended students of the University for their patience and endurance during the recent

times of the COVID pandemic. "Management is resolved to eliminating all impediments. We

assure all students that the University is working to restore the academic calendar to enable

students to graduate in record time," he added.

  

The Registrar, Mr Jeff Teye Onyame administered the matriculation oath to the matriculants.

Present at the ceremony was the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dora Edu-Buandoh, Provosts of

Colleges, Deans of Faculties/Schools, Members of Convocation, Regional Coordinators,

Coordinators of Service Centres, and the Media.
