UCC signs MoU with South Carolina University to Bolster Research Cooperation

A delegation from the South Carolina University,USA headed by Dr. Mathew D. Guan the Dean of the College of Business and Information Systems,has concluded an official visit to the University of Cape Coast (UCC).

 The visit witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the School of Business of UCC and the College of Business and Information Systems of the South Carolina University. The agreement is aimed at promoting joint research activities including exchange of faculty members and research students.

 At a brief ceremony at the Council Chamber to seal the agreement, The Vice-Chancellor of UCC, Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong, endorsed the agreement on behalf of UCC while Dr. Mathew D. Guan, the Dean of the College of Business and Information Systems of the  South Carolina University, appended his signature for his institution.

The MoU also focuses on joint teaching or supervision of students; staging of joint seminars,conferences and academic meetings, as well as special academic programmes.

The signing agreement  will pave way for education abroad on the part of undergraduate and  graduate students, including short-term cultural immersion visits, exchanges, internships, elective and practicum.

The partnership also seeks to ensure joint collaborative Grant Proposals, amongst others.

Shortly after the signing, Prof. Boampong expressed appreciation to the delegation for the visit and said the partnership would go a long way to strengthen the collaboration between the two institutions.

For his part, Dr. Mathew D. Guan,expressed his delight at the opportunity and noted that the MoU marked the beginning of an exciting journey of collaboration between UCC School of Business and the College of Business and Information Systems of the  South Carolina University.
