The Office Building for Academic Senior Members (OBASM) of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) has been commissioned by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong.
The five-storey facility will provide spacious and comfortable offices for senior academic members.
The office building, funded by the Central Administration, has 120 offices -12 large and 102 standard - as well as an open-plan office with a seating capacity of 16. It also has two fully furnished conference rooms with a combined capacity of 105, reception areas, kitchenettes, store rooms, and other ancillary facilities.
The Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Denis Aheto, and a cross-section of faculty members and administrative staff witnessed the ceremony.

Inaugurating the facility, Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong said, “The facility was conceived and executed as part of the strategic effort to enhance faculty welfare and strengthen our capacity for impactful teaching, cutting-edge research, and effective mentorship.”
He continued: “It is not just an office complex, it is a hub for creativity, collaboration, and intellectual exchange.”
“As the landscape of higher education rapidly evolves, UCC must remain at the forefront by investing in the right infrastructure, resources, and enabling environments for our academic community. This project is a testament to our vision to be a globally recognized research-intensive university that sets new standards for innovation, teaching, and learning,” he added.

The Vice-Chancellor expressed gratitude to the University Council and other stakeholders for their diverse contributions towards the construction of the building.
He commended the constructors for their commitment to quality and adherence to timelines, which significantly contributed to the project's success.
