The Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Prof. George Oduro has entreated academic staff of the five Colleges in the University to use dialogue in addressing challenges facing their work. Prof. Oduro noted that, as a University that prides itself as a centre of excellence, it is prudent for staff to formally write to management or the appropriate office for redress of issues.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. D. D. Kuupole has stated that the University of Cape Coast’s image has been enhanced as the leader of quality distance education in Ghana through the College of Distance Education (CoDE).
He therefore paid glowing tribute to the pioneers of Distance Education in UCC for the sacrifices they have made towards the realisation of what he described as “a big dream in the history of transformation of tertiary education in Ghana.”
The newly appointed Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast, Prof. George K. T. Oduro has been formally introduced to staff in the various offices within the Central Administration.
The University of Cape Coast Chapter of the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International (FGBMFI) has donated items to the University of Cape Coast Counselling Centre.
The items included a 32-inch LED digital television with an in-built decoder, installation package and a dish.
The University of Cape Coast (UCC) Pensioners Association has commended management of the University for the prompt payment of their medical expenses whenever they submit their bills for reimbursement.
The Vice-Chairman for the Association, Mr. F. M. Sam gave this commendation when the association held their annual get-together at the St. Peter’s Seminary, Pedu in Cape Coast. He indicated that the association was still in discussion with management of the University to put in place an arrangement that will enable pensioners to access health care without paying upfront.
The University of Cape Coast (UCC) College of Distance Education (CoDE) has held the 15th matriculation ceremony for fresh students admitted to pursue education and business related programmes by distance for the 2015/2016 academic year.
A total of 18, 830 students were admitted nationwide with 14,206 offering Diploma and Post-Diploma programmes in Education and 4,624 pursuing business courses which include Marketing and Management Studies. Out of the total number of students who gained admission 10, 634 were male and 8, 205 female.

The nine local host universities, led by the University of Melbourne, will welcome distinguished guests to the 11th Annual APAIE Conference from 29 February – 3 March, 2016, in Melbourne, Australia.
The Winneba Area Head of the Church of Pentecost, Apostle Emmanuel Offei Ankrah-Badu has observed that Ghana can achieve optimum development if citizens become very responsible in whatever endeavor they find themselves. He noted that the country has been lacking behind in terms of development due to mediocrity, high level of corruption, lawlessness and other social ills in the Ghanaian society.
The Electricity Section of the University of Cape Coast has honoured two retired staff of the Section for their long dedicated service to the University at a ceremony on campus. The two staff, Mr. Patrick Kwofie and Mr. Robert Sam served the University for 35 years and 39 years respectively. Each of them received a table top refrigerator and cash as their end of service package.
