Swearing in of executives

The Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA) has held a handing over ceremony for its national executives at the University of Cape Coast (UCC).

The national executive body which rotates around the various public universities has moved from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) to UCC.

The new executives are: Mr. Kwabena Antwi-Konadu-President; Mrs. Audria Juliana Dankwa-Vice President; Mr. Felix Adu-Poku-General Secretary, Mrs. Charity Abraham – Assistant Secretary; Mr. Alfred K. Attom-Prah-Treasurer and Mr. Sowah Boye-Editor.

Israeli Ambassador with the VC

The Israeli Ambassador to Ghana, Her Excellency, Shani Cooper, has expressed her country’s readiness to partner UCC to boost Agribusiness, Technology and Innovation.
    
Her Excellency, Shani Cooper, made this known when she paid a courtesy call to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong.

VC with Management of College of Education

The new Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong and the Registrar, Mr. Jeff Teye Emmanuel Onyame, have embarked on the second leg of their tour to Directorates and Colleges in the University.
        
The visit this time took them to the Directorate of Academic Planning and Quality Assurance (DAPQA), Directorate of Research Innovation and Consultancy (DRIC), Directorate of University Health Services (DUHS), Centre for International Education (CIE), College of Education Studies (CES) and the College of Humanities and Legal Studies (CHLS).

The Management of School of Business with the old and new heads

The School of Business has organised a handing over ceremony for the Heads of Department of Management and Human Resource Management, Centre for Entrepreneurship and Small Enterprise Development (CESED) and the Business Incubator
    
Dr. Nicodemus Osei Owusu and Dr. Nana Yaw Oppong have taken over from Dr. Abraham Ansong and Dr. (Mrs.) Rebecca Dei Mensah as Heads for the Departments of Management and Human Resource Management respectively.

Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong and Mr. Jeff T. E. Onyame assumed duty as Vice-Chancellor and Registrar of the University respectively on Monday, 3rd August, 2020.

As part of their schedule for the first day in office, the they visited some office holders at the Central Administration and the Colleges to thank them for attending their investiture. They called for their support to build on the solid foundation that has already been laid by their predecessors. 

Prof. Boampong taking the leadership mantle

The new Vice-Chancellor of UCC, Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong, has indicated his commitment to lead the process of transforming the University into a World Class Entrepreneurial University with a global competitive edge.

To achieve this, Prof. Boampong said “My vision is to reposition UCC as the global hub of creative thinkers, offering demand-driven programmes, integrated with practical entrepreneurial courses and actively translating the products of its innovative research, for sustainable development.”

Investiture of Vice-Chancellor and Registrar

The University of Cape Coast has held an investiture for Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong and Mr. Jeff Teye Emmanuel Onyame as Vice-Chancellor and Registrar respectively.

Prof. Boampong is assuming the position of Vice-Chancellor of the University with rich experience as an academic as well as good track record as in university administration.
