Awardees with the dignitaries

The University has honoured 17 members of staff who distinguished themselves in their duties in 2019 at the 4th Staff Awards Ceremony.
    
The awardees were made up of three Senior Members, seven Senior Staff and seven Junior Staff.
Each awardee was presented with a certificate, shield and a cash prize each.  The awards ceremony recognised deserving staff in the areas of administration, finance/audit, library, teaching, technical, and health as well as community involvement.

The Electricity Section has honoured four retired staff members of the University at an End-of-Year Get-Together.
    
The three staff members are Mrs. Agnes Arthur, Mrs. Margaret Addison-Fynn and Mr. James Boafo. Mr. Boafo was presented with a table-top refrigerator and Mrs. Arthur received a gas cooker with oven whiles Mrs. Addison –Fynn and Mr. John Billy Arthur received cash prizes.

The Distance Education Students’ Association of Ghana (DESAG) has held a handing over and induction ceremony to swear in a new National Executive Council (NEC) and Regional Presidents for the 2019/2020 academic year.

A renowned Pan-Africanist, Professor Patrick Loch Otieno Lumumba, has called on Africans to wake up from their dream and take bold actions to develop the continent.
    
Prof. Lumumba made the call when he delivered a lecture at a Public Dialogue as part of the Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORU) 15th Annual General Meeting (AGM) which is currently ongoing at the University of Cape Coast.  He spoke on the topic “Reawakening the African Dream”

A delegation from the Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM) Secretariat in Uganda led by the Executive Secretary, Professor Adipala Ekwamu, has paid a courtesy call to the Minister of State in-charge of Education, Prof. Kojo Yankah.      The visit was to formally brief the Minister about the upcoming Annual General Meeting(AGM) of RUFORUM to be held at the University of Cape Coast from 2nd to 6th December.

Dr. Prempeh was interacting with members of the Council at a meeting on campus as part of an official visit to the University.

The Minister for Education, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has called on African governments to collaborate with Universities to develop a curriculum that trains people to be innovators and inventors as well as create opportunities to reduce or prevent migration.
