The University Community and the general public were treated to an entertaining and hilarious stage play written by  Senior Assistant Registrar, Public Relations and Protocol Section, Major Kofi Baah-Bentum (rtd) of the University of Cape Coast at the Main Auditorium of the University.

The play titled “Honourable and Unable” which was performed by Echoes Production brings to bear the high level of corruption in society.

The University Library in collaboration with the Information Literacy Skills Unit has organised a four-day reading clinic for five basic Schools in some communities around the University.

The event was organised as part of activities marking the 3rd National Library and Information Week celebrations held in the last week of October, 2015.

A Professor of English at the Department of English, University of Cape Coast, Lawrence Kodwo Owusu-Ansah has stated that “Ghanaian English means more than just the English spoken by Ghanaians.”

The statement was made at an inaugural lecture held at the university on the topic “Does Ghanaian English Mean More than Just the English Ghanaians speak or not? Sic Et Non”.

Madam Sherry Ayittey, Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development , on Tuesday inaugurated the University of Cape Coast (UCC) Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Science Refurbished Fisheries and Coastal Laboratory, with a call on the students to conduct research that would help improve the country's coastal and marine resources.

The University of Cape Coast (UCC) in collaboration with the Distance Education Students Association of Ghana (DESAG), is to procure tablet computers for all distance education students, to assist them to launch a new era of learning with Information Communication Technology (ICT), as well as facilitate academic work.

The University of Cape Coast Primary and Junior High Schools made UCC proud at the Second Universities Basic Schools Sports Association Games held at the University of Ghana recently.

For the Junior High School games, UCCJHS Girls and Boys Team placed first and second respectively in the soccer and athletics competition. In the Primary School games, the UCC Primary School Boys and Girls Team secured the first and second positions respectively.

The Centre for Teaching Support (CTS) of the College of Education Studies is hosting a Fulbright Scholar, Prof. Mark Stoner from the Department of Communication Studies, Carlifornia State University, USA to help build capacity of staff at the Centre.

During his stay on campus, Prof. Stoner will also assist to develop manuals for training programmes to guide the Centre to strengthen its mandate of enhancing professional development of lecturers both in the University and other institutions of higher education.
