General Entry Requirements
MA / MSc / MEd / MBA
A candidate seeking admission must:
- Have obtained a good first degree in an appropriate field of study from a recognized university.
- Non-UCC Alumni must submit an official transcript of academic records (UCC Alumni need only provide their Registration Numbers).
- Satisfy additional requirements prescribed by the College/Faculty/School/Department, such as a selection test or interview.
Note: The MPhil/MCom Programmes are for applicants with non-research Masters only.
Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE)
A candidate must:
- Have obtained a first degree in a relevant area of study and taught for two years.
- Non-UCC Alumni must submit an official transcript (UCC Alumni provide Registration Numbers only).
- Satisfy additional requirements prescribed by the College/Faculty/Centre for Teacher Professional Development, including a selection interview.
In special cases, applicants with a Third Class Bachelor's degree with a minimum of three years' post-qualification experience may also be considered and will be required to pass a selection interview.
Duration of Programmes
- MA/MSc/MEd by Course Work: Two sandwich sessions of 8-weeks duration each.
- MBA by Course Work and Dissertation: Three sandwich sessions of 8-weeks duration each.
- PGDE by Course Work and Long Essay with Supervised Teaching Practice: Two sandwich sessions of 8-weeks duration each.
Note: July to September each calendar year constitute one sandwich session.

Target Group: Security Agencies, Educationists, District Assemblies, persons in oil and gas allied industries, relevant public sector institutions, NADMO, civil society organisations, journalists, religious community and traditional leaders.

Department of Geography and Regional Planning
MSc in Disaster Risk Management
Target Group: Teachers in mining, civil and mechanical engineering, forestry; personnel from Ghana Armed Forces, Ghana Police Service, Immigration, CEPS, Ghana Health Service, NGOs, EPA, NADMO, and industries.
Entry Requirements:
- Good first degree (at least Second Class Lower Division) in any field from a recognized institution
- Satisfy additional requirements of the Faculty/Department
Special Admissions: Applicants with a weak first degree or Diploma in Social Sciences, Engineering, or Safety/Disaster management related fields may be considered if they: have considerable knowledge/experience in safety and disaster issues or held a management position for at least five years; are at least 35 years old; and pass a selection interview.
