The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Ghartey Ampiah has commissioned the School of Business Building and a state-of-the-art Data Centre at the North campus.
Speaking at the commissioning of the School of Business Building, the Vice-Chancellor commended the School for making judicious use of its Internally Generated Fund (IGF) to put up their own office complex. He encouraged other departments in the University to emulate the example of the School.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Ghartey Ampiah has launched the second research report of the University spanning 2017-2019 at a ceremony on campus .
The research report touches on the multidisciplinary and solutions-driven research that has been undertaken by researchers in the University working in teams. The report also highlights the growing importance of networks and multi-stakeholder partnerships in driving research impact.
The University of Cape Coast has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a Ghanaian-based Indian Company, Park Agrotech Ghana Limited as part of plans to revamp the Komenda Sugar Factory.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Ghartey Ampiah, has commissioned a multi-purpose lecture complex valued at GH ¢19.9 million to enhance academic work in the University.
The lecture complex which was completed within 18 months through Internally Generated Funds (IGF) has 25-lecture halls with the capacity to seat 4, 500 students.
Graduates of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) and University at Buffalo (UB) Leadership Empowerment Academy Programme have been charged to be innovative leaders even in the midst of crises.
The graduation ceremony was held for 22 postgraduate students, who enrolled on the programme in 2019 and successfully completed their studies in June, 2020.
The University, has presented GH ¢1,000 each to 57 international students who could not travel back to their countries as a result of COVID-19 and the subsequent closure of the country’s borders.
The presentation ceremony was held at the conference hall of the Supperanuation Hostel.
The UCC Co-operative Credit Union has presented some personal protective equipment (PPE) to the University Health Service to fight the spread of COVID-19.
The items were 30 gallons of hand sanitizer and 20 packs of tissue papers.
The School of Business in collaboration with the ‘Building Expertise and Training for Growth (BET-Ghana Project), has organised a Multidisciplinary Workshop under the theme: “Approach to Applied Mixed Research in the Multidisciplinary Space: The Case of Food Processing and Consumer Goods.”
The University has donated five sets of computers and accessories to the Central Regional Police Command.
The accessories were five sets of Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) and a Coloured Printer.
Presenting the items, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joseph Ghartey Ampiah, noted that the donation was to support the Police to enhance their work. Prof. Ampiah said the items were being presented in response to a request made during a previous visit to the Central Regional Police Command.
It is announced for the information of the University community and the general public that at its Special Meeting held on 17th June, 2020, the University of Cape Coast Council took the following decisions:
Council appointed Professor Johnson Nyarko Boampong, currently the Provost of the College of Health and Allied Sciences as the new Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast for an initial 4-year term of office with effect from 1st August, 2020.
