The Institute of Education (IOE), UCC, has held a Send-off Ceremony to honour the immediate past Director, Prof. Frederick Ocansey.
In her welcome address, the Director, IOE, Prof. Christine Adu-Yeboah, stated that the purpose of the ceremony was to celebrate and honour the former Director for his service to the Institute during his tenure. She commended him for his good leadership and the due diligence he exhibited towards his responsibilities at the Institute.
The School of Physical Sciences has held Dean’s Awards Ceremony to honour and motivate its hardworking students for the 2018/2019 academic year.
The Department of Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics has organised its second annual nutrition lecture series on the theme, “National Food and Nutrition Policy: Current State and Relevance for Public Health and Socioeconomic Development”.

Members of the Board include the Vice-Chancellor, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Provost of the five Colleges in UCC, Director of Academic Affairs, Director, Institute of Education, UCC; Executive Secretary/Representative of the National Council for Tertiary Education (NCTE), Director of Academic Affairs, UCC and Director of Academic Planning and Quality Assurance (DAPQA).
The University of Cape Coast is set to play a key role in a £20 million UKRI-GCRF One Ocean Hub research project led by the Strathclyde Centre for Environmental Law & Governance, University of Strathclyde, United Kingdom.
The University of Cape Coast is the first University in West Africa to host the Regional Universities Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM) Annual General Meeting (AGM), the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dora Edu-Buandoh has stated.
This follows RUFORUM’s strategic geographical expansion in 2014 to include Universities in Benin, Côte d'Ivoire, Ghana, Liberia, Mali, Nigeria, Togo, Sierra Leone and Senegal.
The Counselling Centre has organised an academic workshop for students on the topic: "Start Your Semester Right: Strategising Your Semester for Academic Success and Balance."
The Director, Counselling Centre, Rev. Fr. Dr. Anthony K. Nkyi, in his welcome address noted that the workshop was to introduce and enhance students with the skills and strategies they could adopt or adapt to successfully finish their programme of study at UCC.
The British High Commissioner to Ghana, His Excellency, Iain Walker, has indicated that the United Kingdom (UK) will continue to partner the government of Ghana and tertiary institutions to enhance quality education in the country.
Commissioner Walker gave the assurance when he delivered a lecture on the topic “Ghana “UK Relations” on campus.
The Sam Jonah Library has launched the 2019 Library week celebration on the theme “The 21st Century Library Services for Higher Education: Redefining University of Cape Coast Library Services”.
